Install the Winzos Shopify app

Add Winzos: Contests & Giveaways to your store and your Winzos account is set up for you. There's no separate sign-up and nothing to pay.

Find Winzos: Contests & Giveaways on the Shopify App Store

Install the app

  1. Open the Winzos listing. Click the badge above to go to Winzos: Contests & Giveaways on the Shopify App Store, then click Install.
  2. Approve the permissions. Choose your store if Shopify asks, review the permissions, and confirm the install. Winzos asks for:
    • Products (read): so you can pick a product from your catalog as a contest prize.
    • Discounts (read & write): so Winzos can create the coupon codes you send to winners.
  3. Land on your Winzos dashboard. Shopify sends you straight to manage.winzos.io, already signed in. Your Winzos account uses your store's name and email.
  4. Accept the terms. In the Thanks for adding Winzos: Contests and Giveaways dialog, tick I agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy. and click Continue.
  5. Say hi to your dashboard. The Welcome to Winzos dialog confirms your store is connected. Click Open setup to add the widget to your theme, or Close to look around first.

The Winzos dashboard opens in its own browser tab at manage.winzos.io, not inside Shopify admin. That's expected, so bookmark it!

Finish setup: add the widget to your theme

Your dashboard shows a Finish setup: Add Winzos block to your theme banner until you dismiss it. Click Open setup on it whenever you're ready, then follow Add the widget to your Shopify theme. It takes about a minute.

It's easiest to create a contest first. The widget only appears on products that have a live contest, so you'll be able to see it working straight away.

Opening Winzos later

You've got two options:

  • From Shopify admin: go to Apps and open Winzos: Contests & Giveaways. You'll be signed in to your dashboard automatically.
  • From manage.winzos.io: enter your store's email and click Send Magic Link. Then click the link in the email.

Troubleshooting

"This email is already linked to another store"

Each Winzos account connects to one Shopify store, and the account is matched by your store's email. If that email already belongs to a Winzos account connected to a different store, the install stops with a message explaining why. Email help@winzos.io and we'll help you sort it out.

I already had a creator account

No problem. If your store's email matches your existing Winzos account, installing the app connects your store to that account. You keep everything you already had and gain the Shopify features.

Uninstalling

Go to Settings → Profile in Winzos and click Disconnect Shopify. That takes you to the apps page in your Shopify admin, where you can uninstall Winzos. When an app is uninstalled, Shopify removes its blocks from your theme, so the contest widget disappears from your storefront.
