Winners & prizes

The best part of any contest. Here's how Winzos picks winners, and exactly what to do next to get prizes into their hands.

How winners are picked

When a contest ends (at its end time, or when you click End Early), Winzos draws the winners automatically. You don't need to do anything.

  • It's a random draw, weighted by entries. Everyone with at least one entry has a chance, and each extra entry improves their odds. Someone with 200 entries is twice as likely to win as someone with 100.
  • No one wins twice. If your contest has several winners, each one is a different person.
  • Winners are ranked #1, #2 and so on, in the order they were drawn.

We'll email you when the contest ends. Your winners appear in the Winners table on the contest's detail page.

Until you've contacted your winners, we'll send you friendly reminder emails. Winners are waiting!

Delivering the prize

How you deliver the prize depends on your setup:

Send a winner coupon

Shopify stores deliver prizes as a coupon code the winner uses at checkout. It's one click:

  1. Open the contest's detail page. Scroll to the Winners table.
  2. Send the coupon. Click Send coupon next to a winner. Winzos creates a single-use discount code in your Shopify store (it starts with WINZOS-) and emails it to the winner.
  3. That's it! The code appears in the Coupon column along with when it was last emailed. Need to send it again? Click Resend coupon.

The coupon is based on the contest's Participation Prizes setting. With Product-specific coupon/promo code, the winner gets a 100%-off code for the contest product.

If the contest is set to No participation prize, Winzos can't create a coupon, so contact your winner and deliver the prize yourself. Contests can't be edited once they've ended, so choose the setting before launch.

Notify, then fulfill

  1. Notify your winner. On the contest's detail page, click Notify Winner. Write a Personal Message (up to 500 characters) and click Send Notification. We email the winner with a link to claim the prize.
  2. The winner claims it. They confirm their shipping details in their Winners Circle at app.winzos.io. We email you "Prize claimed" when they do.
  3. Ship it and mark it fulfilled. Click Fulfill next to the winner to see their Shipping details. Once the prize is on its way, tick the confirmation box and click Mark fulfilled.

Winner hasn't claimed yet? Click Resend notification to nudge them. We also send them reminders automatically.

Make your personal message count. Congratulate them, say when they can expect the prize, and give them a shout-out on your socials if they're up for it.
