Contests
Create a contest
One page, a handful of fields, and you're live. Here's what every setting does and how to get the most out of it.
Open your dashboard and click Create Contest in the sidebar, or New Contest above your contest list. You'll see the Contest Details form: "Configure your product contest settings". Work top to bottom:

1. Name your contest
Give it a name in Contest Name (up to 255 characters). This is what people see first, so make it about the prize.
2. Choose the prize
This part depends on what kind of creator you are:
Select Product: "Choose a product from your Shopify catalog to feature in this contest".
- Click Choose a product and start typing to search your catalog.
- Pick the product. Winzos fills in its name, price, description and image for you, and shows a summary card with its handle and base price.
- Look over the Product Description. It's what entrants read about the prize.
Describe your prize yourself:
- Product Name: what you're giving away.
- Product Description: key features and why people will want it (up to 1,000 characters).
- Product Image: drag and drop an image (up to 10MB) or use Or paste image URL to link one that's already online.
A bright, clear photo of the prize on a clean background makes a big difference.
3. Contest Settings
"Configure the rules and requirements for your contest."
| Setting | What it means |
|---|---|
| Number of Winners | How many people win the prize, from 1 to 100. Defaults to 1. |
| Product Cost (Base Cost) | What one prize costs you, in dollars. Winzos uses it to show your total prize cost. |
| Minimum Participants Required | The participation goal you're aiming for, from 1 to 10,000. Defaults to 10. |
| Minimum Entries per User | The entry target you'd like each participant to reach, from 1 to 100. Defaults to 1. |
| Make this contest public for all to participate | On (the default) means anyone can discover and join your contest, including on the Featured Contests list at app.winzos.io. Turn it off to keep it for people who have your link or see your widget. |
The Contest Summary box underneath adds it all up: winners, total cost (product cost × winners), minimum participants and minimum entries per user.
4. Contest Timing
"When should this contest run?"
- Start: choose Start contest immediately (Live), or Schedule for later and pick a Date & Time (in 15-minute steps). Scheduled contests go live on their own at that time.
- End: under End Contest, set the Contest End Time. When it arrives, the contest ends and winners are drawn automatically.
5. Participation Prizes Shopify stores
Shopify contests have one more section. Pick one of:
- No participation prize (the default)
- Product-specific coupon/promo code
- Store-wide coupon/promo code
This setting decides the coupon Winzos creates when you click Send coupon for a winner (see Winners & prizes).
Want to send your winner a coupon from Winzos? Choose Product-specific coupon/promo code. The winner then gets a single-use 100%-off code for the contest product.
If you leave it on No participation prize, Winzos can't create a coupon, and you'll need to deliver the prize yourself. A store-wide code applies to your whole store, not just the prize. You can change this with Edit while the contest is running, but not after it ends.
6. Launch it
Click Create & Launch Contest. You'll land back on your dashboard, and a share dialog pops up so you can spread the word.
Click Copy link to grab your Shareable contest link. It opens your contest's page on app.winzos.io, where anyone can enter. Drop it in your bio, stories, newsletter, Discord or anywhere else your people hang out.
